Olivier Vrins

Olivier Vrins is a top intellectual property lawyer with almost 20 years of experience, treating topics from trademark law to copyright, design and patent law. He is a partner at ALTIUS and has special interest and expertise in the protection of personality rights of public figures such as sportsmen/women and artists, and in the field of geographical indications. Olivier also advises on contracts related to IP and image rights (including sponsoring contracts and artists agreements).

Olivier has acted as a member of the ‘Legal & International’ Working Group of the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights. He is a member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), the International Trade Mark Association (INTA) and of the editorial board of the ‘BMM Bulletin’, a Benelux trademark and design review.

Olivier publishes and lectures on IP related subjects. He has addressed the European Parliament on the issue of the compatibility of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) with the EU Acquis on IPR enforcement and civil liberties. He is ranked in Chambers, recognised as a ‘Leading Individual’ by Legal500 and as a ‘Trade Mark Star’ by IP Stars.

Olivier is also a member of the Belgian Intellectual Property Council, an advisory council created under the supervision of the Belgian Minister of Economic Affairs.
